Chemline’s SB Series back pressure relief valves are designed for long maintenance-free life. They are designed for superior performance in dosing systems. Different models are available. Each has advantages for different applications.

How they Work

Chemline SB Series Back Pressure/Relief Valves have two functions: as a back pressure valve, installed in-line downstream of a pump, the back pressure below the metering pump is maintained. When installed in the branch of a tee they are pressure relief valves. The valves stays closed until inlet pressure reaches the set pressure which is adjusted by turning the spring tensioning bolt. Inlet pressure acts against a PTFE bonded diaphragm, opening the seat to allow flow until the inlet pressure again equals the set pressure. SB11

Chemline’s SB11 Back Pressure/Relief HypoValve with PVC body, FPM (Viton) seals is our proven solution for sodium hypochlorite applications. Our valve provides a long term, maintenance-free service, and the ability to operate with lower quality chemical where other valves fail. Depending on your system design, we offer both ChemFlare™ end connections with PFA tube and fittings for flexible systems and ECTFE (Halar) butt fusion ends and piping for rigid systems.

The valve’s True Union design means easy installation and will provide a reliable, leak-free mechanical connection of the PVC valve to your PFA or ECTFE (Halar) delivery system. Removing all PVC solvent cemented joints is the only way to guarantee a leak-free sodium hypochlorite system.

The SB10/11 Series is very sensitive to pressure changes and requires low over pressure to fully open. It is designed for clean fluids only.

The SB12 Series has a built-in check valve function, desirable for dosing applications. It is not so sensitive as to open with every pulsation from a metering pump. It is designed for clean fluids only.

The SM17 Mini Series offers high performance in a compact package.

The SB18 Series is recommended for dosing applications. It is not so sensitive as to open with every pulsation from a metering pump.
