Press Release: New family of switches resist aggressive liquids

Pressure Vacuum Level Ltd (PVL) now stocks a range of corrosion resistant thermoplastic, brass or stainless steel flow, float and level switches from Australian manufacturer Kelco. The switches are ideal for water treatment, waste, chemical, pharmaceutical and scientific applications.

Kelco’s thermoplastic switches are resistant to corrosive liquids because none of the metallic parts come into contact with the process liquid and their electronic modules are completely isolated. For instance, the F27 series switch, which supports and enhances plastic piping systems, is ideal for sea water, acidic, alkaline and waste water applications.

The brass and stainless steel switches in the Kelco range can be mounted in multiple positions, are compact and can be removed or replaced without interrupting pipe work. A unique feature of the F26 corrosion resistant, heavy duty flow switch is it’s built in manual override, which allows the switch to be turned on regardless of lack of flow. This facilitates testing and commissioning by allowing for manual start up.

“Switch resistance to damaging fluids is a crucial part of ensuring uptime in many water, pharma and chemical applications,” enthused David Almond, PVL’s head of sales and marketing. “Our Kelco products support a wide range of pipe sizes and flow profiles and are extremely resistant to wear and tear. They can be installed in-line, at the input or output or even used in storage tank systems”.

PVL is the exclusive European distributor for Kelco products and provides next day delivery on the entire range. The company’s specialist design engineers are on hand to provide expert guidance on which switch is best suited to each application.
