ATEX level switches: What you need to knowPVL has an extensive range of ATEX level switches, which can be used in explosive environments.
Our team of expert engineers are only too happy to guide you through which particular devices suit you best, but in the meantime, here is a handy guide to get you started:
Level detectors for solids
If you require a product that can monitor the level of solids, such as cereals or granulars, the SOLIBA-GP Level Detector by ATMI is a good option.
With gold plated contacts, a working temperature between -20 degrees Celsius and 70 degrees Celsius, as well as a ten degree differential angle, this device is ideal for factory owners who need to keep an eye on their silos and storage zones.
Mechanical level switches for liquids
Like the Soliba-GP, the NW1 Side entry level switch with ATEX option is capable of working in the harshest environments.
Manufactured by the GHM Group, the mechanical level monitor has a brass or stainless steel body and is used with water and oils.
Multipoint level switches
The S-ATEX Multipoint Level Switch comes with up to six switch points and has a maximum working pressure up to 50 bar.
With a standard working temperature of 100 degrees Celsius (or 160 degrees Celsius on request), this device can operate in very hostile conditions.
Float level regulator
The SOBA Ex 10-08 Float Level Regulator by ATMI is an omnidirectional switch that is widely used by companies that produce pharmaceutical products, chemicals, solvents, hydrocarbons and alcohols.
It has a maximum pressure of four bar and comes with an intrinsic safety relay.
